Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Alien Chess, operated by Abel Duarte, handles information when you use the Alien Chess app, its online features, or ufochess.com.
Effective and last updated: August 24, 2026
Information we handle
- Account information: email address, display name, account identifier, sign-in credentials or tokens, and authentication provider when you create or use an account.
- Gameplay and social information: match results, moves, progress, rankings, achievements, friends, invitations, profile details, and messages you choose to send through online play or chat features.
- Device and app information: an app-generated device identifier, app version, device and operating-system details, notification preferences, diagnostics, IP address, and server logs.
- Advertising and analytics information: ad requests, impressions, consent choices, interactions, app events, screens viewed, and approximate or advertising-related device information supplied by Google services.
- Purchase information: product and transaction identifiers used to validate in-app purchases. Payment-card information is processed by Apple and is not received by Alien Chess.
How we use information
We use information to:
- operate accounts, online matches, leaderboards, chat, progress, and purchases;
- save preferences and keep the game reliable, secure, and fair;
- send service messages and notifications you enable;
- understand app performance and improve features;
- request, measure, and display advertising; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
Advertising and consent
Alien Chess uses Google AdMob to display advertising and Google's User Messaging Platform to request and store consent choices where required. Depending on your region and choices, Google and its advertising partners may use device identifiers, approximate location, app activity, ad interactions, and similar information to provide, personalize, and measure ads.
In regions where a privacy-options entry is required, you can reopen it from the app's Profile screen under Privacy Choices. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Google explains its practices in Google's Privacy Policy and its partner-services disclosure.
Analytics and other services
Alien Chess uses Firebase services for analytics, authentication, messaging, and related app functions. The app may also use Google Sign-In, Apple services, and our own servers to provide accounts, notifications, purchases, and online gameplay. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
The ufochess.com landing page is a static website and does not currently run its own analytics or advertising scripts. Standard hosting and security logs may still record technical information such as IP address, request time, and browser details.
When information is shared
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the features described above, including Google, Firebase, Apple, hosting, security, and backend infrastructure providers. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer.
We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising-related disclosures may be considered “sharing” or targeted advertising under some laws; use the in-app privacy choices where available to control that processing.
Legal bases and international use
Where European data-protection law applies, processing is based on your consent when required, performance of the service you request, legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, and compliance with legal obligations. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own using safeguards required by applicable law.
Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain legitimate business records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type. Local game data remains on your device until removed by you, the app, or the operating system.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. You can delete an Alien Chess account from the app. You can also manage notification permissions in iOS and advertising consent through the in-app privacy choices when available.
European users may lodge a complaint with their local data-protection authority. We may need to verify a request before fulfilling it.
Children
Alien Chess is a general-audience game. Accounts and online features should be used only by people who meet the minimum age required by local law or with authorization from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so the account and associated information can be reviewed or deleted.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app, service providers, or legal requirements change. Material updates will be reflected by the date above and, when appropriate, an in-app notice.
For privacy questions or requests, contact the developer through the support details available on the Alien Chess App Store listing or visit abel-duarte.com.
